ග්‍රාමීය ප්‍රදේශයක ජීවත් වන ගැහැනියක වූ ඇය සැමියාගේ රෙදි සේදීම වැනි වෙහෙසකර කාර්යයන් මැද සැහැල්ලුව හා සතුට ලබන්නේ වැව් දියේ බැස ස්නානයෙනි. එහෙත් ඇය සමග පැමිණි ඇගේ කුඩා පුත්‍රයා ඇය ස්නානය කළ දියටම මුත්‍රා කරයි.

අපූරු ස්ත්‍රීවාදී සිනමාපටයකි.

Synopsis: A woman living in a rural area comes to the lake to wash her husband's clothes. Her son accompanies her to catch fish. Washing her husband's clothes is another obligatory activity in her day-to-day tasks, which she does with much difficulty. It is a continuing cycle - tedious and tiring - similar to her marriage. She can neither stop the work nor break away from her marriage. Her only pleasure is found in bathing, when she bathes in the lake while it rains. The water is relaxing, a fleeting asylum from the weight of obligations. It is a moment snatched from her life, only for her self. This stolen moment also shatters when she finally sees her son urinating into the very water she bathes.

ලංකාවේ ගීතය

සෝංග් ඔෆ් සිලෝන් නම් මෙම වාර්තා චිත්‍රපටය ලෝක සිනමා වංශ කතාවේ සම්භාවනාවට ලක් වූ කෘතියක්. Empire Tea Marketing Board සහ Ceylon Tea Board වෙනුවෙන් GPO Film Unit  විසින් නිෂ්පාදනය කරන ලද මෙහි අධ්‍යක්ෂණය බැසිල් රයිට්ගේයි. ශබ්දය පිළිබඳ මෙහි කළ අත්හදාබැලීම් ඇගැයීමට ලක් විය. 1935 වසරේ බ්‍රසල්ස්හි පැවති ජාත්‍යන්තර චිත්‍රපට උළෙලේදී මෙම චිත්‍රපටය හොදම චිත්‍රපටය ලෙස තේරිණි. මෙහි පසුබිම් කථනයේ හඬ ලයනල් වෙන්ඩ්ට්ගේයි.
